WHEEL & PEDALS

Plug a wheel in and press a pedal to wake it up. Press BIND, then turn the wheel or push the pedal you want — whatever moves is what gets used. If a control works backwards, press INVERT. The bar next to each one shows what it is reading. The keyboard keeps working either way.

HOW TO PLAY

Steer: ← → arrow keys, or a wheel if you have bound one above.
Throttle up: hold P — the right-hand bar climbs and turns green, and you go faster.
Throttle down: hold L — the bar drops and turns red, and you go slower.
Change camera: tap Q to cycle in-kart, behind-the-kart, and the whole track from above.
Health: the left-hand bar. Walls cost you nothing — lean on them all you like. You only lose health crashing into another kart, clipping a rock, or coming down hard off a jump. Run out and your race is over.
Laps: counted from the checkered start/finish line at the top of the screen.
Quit: Esc leaves the race and takes you back to the front of the game.
Talk to the others: press U, type, and press enter. What you type pops up on every other player's screen, and they can answer you the same way. Anyone can do this, in any mode. Racing the computer, one of the drivers might answer you back — but only if you said something first.

SELECT TRACK

Dots in the corner are the difficulty: 1 = easy, 2 = medium, 3 = hard, 3 in a triangle = extremely hard. A star of dots means a special: night, ice, banking, bridges, moving hazards.
Six dots making a K means stunts — ramps to launch off and holes in the road to clear. Fall in one and you are out of the race.

Race with friends

Everyone who types in the same code races together.

Make one up — letters and numbers

Tell your friends the code. When they type the same one in, they line up in your race. Anyone who types a different code races somewhere else.

Playing with someone else? Type the same code and the game joins your two computers straight to each other — no accounts, nothing in common but the code. It works best from the downloaded file opened in Chrome or Edge. Two windows on one computer always work, which is the quickest way to check it.
